~Dot Com Bulletins~

Quick Update/Spring Plans [01-31-25 09:59pm EST]

I'm updating the site a little more frequently lately, which means I have been feeling inspired and writing a lot again. It feels good! Some fun new things are most certainly on the horizon.
So, early last year I assembled a group of musicians to support me for my album release show. I was lucky enough that they wanted to participate in the project beyond that first show! We played a handful of shows together and recorded a song for the Asheville FM compilation (link in the bulletin below this one!). As you may or may not have read, I ended up having a difficult year and it took me some time to get myself leveled out again. What I DID do in this time however, was continue to write music. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with DCB for a while, so I decided to let these songs sit on the back burner.
Flash forward a few months, and I have been diving hard into utilizing Ableton Live on my computer as a means of writing music. As much as I adore the Yamaha QY700, I was really clicking with the software and have changed up my creative process a lot in this time. As I was writing new music in Ableton, I was thinking how difficult the new stuff would be able to play live with a group. That led to me realizing like "oh yeah I have a group of people willing to collaborate with me and I would be so stupid to not be doing that. So long story short, I have resurfaced the songs I wrote last summer.
The most exciting thing about all of this is that my good friend Aubrey is going to be playing drums with us and coming on as a fifth bubble! What that means is that the songs will feature no backing tracks or MIDI sequenced drums or synthesizers. I have adapted the songs I wrote for guitar, bass, synthesizer, drums and voice. The new material is a little bit of a departure from the first record, but I am so very excited to have some friends on board to help me flesh these songs out. As of this evening, I have confirmed some studio time, so this will also be my first time recording outside of the comfort of my own home (gulp!).
ANYWAYS, I am super excited to get this stuff out into the world. Once this EP comes out I can go back to writing in Ableton and figure out where to go from there. It's been really fun to have DCB be such an adaptable project.
Thanks for reading, fun stuff to come! ♥

Asheville FM Compilation/Release Show/Wintery Update [01-12-25 06:35pm EST]

It's been so long since I've posted anything here! Actually, it's been a while since I have had the time to work on anything Dot Com Bubble related honestly. I had two surgeries, then we had a hurricane that took away power and water for a week, and then the holidays, yada yada, etc, etc. Anyways, we recorded a song with the full band last summer and it is finally releasing! I was super exicted that we were asked to be a part of the compilation and I am so happy with how our song turned out :)
I was reached out to about playing the release show, but wasn't sure we would have enough time to get it together after so long without playing. I decided to play this show solo, but I wanted to make it different and interesting. I will be doing my first laptop-only set! I have a new costume and stage props that I am looking forward to debut, and I have a set with basically 90% unrecorded, new music to play. The show is on the 17th at Citizen Vinyl at 7pm and it is FREE!
Here is a link to the compilation!

Full Band Updates/Summer Plans for 2024! [06-08-24 02:53pm EST]

It's been a while since I posted a bulletin here so it feels appropriate to provide some updates! Dot Com Bubble has officially morphed into a full band! The initial plan was to find a group of friends to help support me for my album release show, but it went so well and I am so lucky that they wanted to stick around! They really are the best and are all so funny and awesome and talented. This has reinvigorated my passion for this project and I am so excited for whats to come!
We had our album release show, an awesome show at The Odd with Lovely Little Girls from Chicago, we were thrilled to be asked to play a secret show at Eulogy with Wednesday, and we played Static Age Records for the first time as a group with Andy Loebs and CRY9C who are both amazing groups and people.
We were recently asked to submit a song for an upcoming Asheville FM compilation, which will mark our first recording as a group! We finished tracking the instrumentals last Thursday and I am set to record vocals later this afternoon. We will do some mixing and send the song off by the 15th of this month, so hopefully I will be able to post that soon!
The less than stellar news is that I have two surgeries this summer! The first one is fun and the second one is not fun, but it will essentially put me out for the summer. That means we will be taking a break from shows and be able to come back with some new material. My first surgery is in two days, so I am doing as much as I can before I'm much less able bodied and mobile.
We did have another show at Eulogy in July, but it was too close to my second surgery date, so we had to cancel. Boo! So if you want us to play a show in Asheville, or any surrounding areas, let us know! Who am I talking to? Does anybody read these?? If you did read this, thank you I suppose! It's mostly just a fun way to be able to rant about this stuff and stay off of social media as much as I can.
ANYWAYS!

Some Developments... [02-08-24 11:38pm EST]

So, I had to cancel my tour. It's too much/too personal to really get into it, but I just can't easily travel right now. Some good news though is that Matt will soldier on without me and play a lot of the cities we had planned to! So follow their pages to get relavent info on that. I will also post the info here.
On a less dissapointing note, my album release show is coming up super soon, and I have a full band backing me for this show! This incarnation will be known as Dottie and the Bubbles! I have an all star cast with me! I'll be posting the flier in the shows section once it's completed. The lineup is going to be us, Bubblegum Octopus, Gos, and Divorce Papers. A really wacky night of some of my favorite artists in town! This will be at Different Wrld on 3-4-24 at 9pm. I'll post another update as soon as I can!

Christmasasaurus Unleashed!! [12-28-2023 05:44pm EST]

The dinosaur has been unleashed! I've loved the Christmasasaurus compilations for a while and it was such a treat to be able to submit a song this year!
I chose "We're a Couple of Misfits" from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer because the song has been a favorite of mine since I was a little kid!
With last years Copyright 420 Halloween compilation and this one, I have two holiday related songs! What's next?? Easter??
Anyways, go listen to the compilation!! You can find a link here!

First Post!/TOUR INFO!! [11-27-2023 03:22pm EST]

This website has been in the works for a while now, but I would say that now is as good a time of any to say that it is in a "presentable state" With that being said, I will always consider this page a work in progress that is constantly under contruction ;)
As mentioned on the home page, I have a tour coming up with Bubblegum Octopus! I've been a huge fan of BGO and M@'s music since like 2006 or something so believe me, I am very excited!!!
More in-depth information will be posted once we have enough data to actually justify posting all of it, but the cities are as follows:
Cities with a "*" mean they are NOT BOOKED, so please send an email and help us!
